As a PhD candidate at Université Paris Cité and a member of the METHODS/CRESS team, I focus on integrating patient-reported outcomes (PROMs) to measure the appropriateness of care in real-world healthcare settings. My research centers on implementing value-based healthcare (VBHC) models, with cataract surgery as a case study—the most commonly performed surgery in France. By quantifying “health gains” and leveraging the principle of “qui se compare s’améliore,” I examine how transparency and comparative performance can drive improvements in clinical practices and patient outcomes. This work also contributes to advancing healthcare professions education and aims to support the development of a more effective, patient-centered, and sustainable healthcare system.
