Prevalence and burden of Rheumatologic Musculoskeletal Diseases (RMDs) are predicted to increase, because of the increasingly ageing population, placing greater demands on healthcare budgets. From the patient point of view, RMDs are the first cause of perceived disability. The objectives of ECAMO team are to identify risk factors for poor prognosis, to assess specific and effective treatments (both pharmacological and non-pharmacological) and thus to decrease disability in patients with RMDs. The ultimate purpose is to provide data to adapt public health policies in the field. The ECAMO team has been created in 2014 and consists of 12 researchers rheumatologists, internal medicine specialists, orthopaedic surgeons, physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists and radiologists.
