I am a perinatal epidemiologist and Research Director at Inserm. I co-lead two research groups in the EPOPé team: “Preterm Birth and Fetal Growth Restriction” (with Pierre-Yves Ancel) and “Prenatal and delivery care in the low-risk and general population” (with Camille LeRay).
My research focuses on assessing the impact of the organization and quality of care on the health and development of babies born very preterm before 32 weeks of gestational age using multi-national prospective cohort studies, including the EPICE-SHIPS cohort and federated work on the European level with the RECAP Preterm platform. I also coordinate the Euro-Peristat project, an EU-funded initiative to develop maternal and infant health indicators that can be used for monitoring health on the national and European level. Euro-Peristat brings together partners from 31 countries to investigate differences in perinatal health outcomes and care across countries and over time. As part of this research area, I am working to improve routine reporting on fetal and newborn health using the French National Health Data System (SNDS). My third research interest is the management and consequences of fetal growth restriction for preterm and term births. I also hold an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Population Health Science and Policy at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York and am deputy editor at the journal Paediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology.
