Two achievements for the CRESS-EREN team, which fully contribute to the development of the laboratory

Since the start of the academic year, two members of the CRESS-EREN team (Inserm / INRAe / Université Sorbonne Paris Nord / Cnam / Université Paris Cité) have joined the laboratory located in the SMBH building of USPN in Bobigny on a long-term basis.

They are Amelle Aitelhadj, who passed the INSERM competitive exam as an ingénieure d’études and is now continuing her integration within the team as the network systems administrator, and Paola Yvroud Hoyos, who passed the ingénieure de recherche competitive exam at Université Sorbonne Paris Nord (USPN), enabling her to make permanent her role as responsible of the medical department and operational coordination of the NutriNet-Santé cohort.

This dual achievement marks a major event for the team, both symbolic and forward-looking. It demonstrates the dynamism, professionalism, and high-level expertise present within the team.

In a national context where the number of open positions is shrinking, where retaining staff is a daily challenge, and where responsibilities are becoming increasingly complex, scientific and technical excellence remains essential. These two achievements thus highlight the importance of training, individual commitment, and collective support.

The competitive exams for ingénieur d’études and ingénieur de recherche are among the most competitive pathways for accessing positions of responsibility in the French civil service. They require not only strong technical skills but also the ability to handle complex dossiers, innovate, and work transversally.

The fact that two members of the same team obtained these competitive positions in the same year is particularly remarkable, as it highlights the complementarity of their profiles and the diversity of the missions they carry out.

Amelle Aitelhadj, who passed her competitive exam with an excellent ranking, plays a central role in the management, optimization, and development of the team’s IT and network systems. She ensures the performance, security, and high availability of services in an environment that includes Windows Server, several Linux distributions (Debian, RedHat, Oracle Linux), Proxmox for virtualization, as well as Cisco network equipment. Her success reflects her rigor, her advanced command of IT tools and methodologies, and her strong organizational skills.

Paola Yvroud Hoyos, a medical doctor by training and also highly ranked in her competitive exam, brings essential strategic expertise. Several thousand health events (cancers, cardiovascular diseases, neurovascular diseases, etc.) have been diagnosed since the start of the study, with more to come in the years ahead. Validating these events, based on medical and pathological reports, is crucial for ensuring data quality. Moreover, access to medico-administrative databases (previously SNIIRAM and now SNDS, currently undergoing approval) requires processing and integrating heterogeneous information. Her mission will therefore consist of validating each new health event reported by participants, in order to build and secure the medical databases of the NutriNet-Santé web cohort—an essential step for participant follow-up.

Beyond these individual achievements, this dual nomination illustrates the collective momentum driving the center. The success of two staff members in such demanding competitive exams is no coincidence: it reflects a stimulating work environment, strong mutual support, and daily commitment to quality. It also demonstrates the ability of the CRESS-EREN team to support its members in preparing for competitive exams, to highlight their skills, and to foster their professional development.

This shared success undeniably strengthens internal cohesion and opens new organizational perspectives. The two staff members will be able to work synergistically, each in her area of expertise, to drive ambitious initiatives and contribute to the visibility of the team and the institution.

The entire CRESS extends its warmest congratulations to both laureates for their work, perseverance, and exemplary career paths. Their success is a source of collective pride and a highly encouraging sign for the future. It confirms that professional excellence, when supported and recognized, becomes a true driving force for the team’s development and innovation.
