On April 24, 2026, CRESS welcomed a delegation from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS, USA) as part of a meeting organized by Inserm’s Public Health Thematic Institute.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase several of CRESS’s major research projects in environmental health:
- The FILOMENE cohort, which investigates the links between the exposome and children’s health – Barbara Heude, Inserm Research Director, and Romain BASMASC, Professor of Pediatrics and Hospital Practitioner, Université Paris Cité;
- The NutriNet-Santé cohort, focusing on the food exposome – Mathilde Touvier, Inserm Research Director;
- The GEOCAP program, which examines environmental risk factors for childhood cancers – Stéphanie Goujon, Inserm Research Engineer.
The U.S. delegation included Kyle Walsh, Director of NIEHS; Trevor Archer, Deputy Director and expert in environmental epigenetics; David Balshaw, Director of Extramural Research; and Yuxia Cui, Head of International Relations.
We would like to thank Inserm, and especially Robert Barouki and Arnaud de Guerra from the Public Health Thematic Institute, as well as Laura Kliemann from the Department of Partnerships and External Relations, for highlighting our research projects addressing key public health and environmental health challenges.
