The METHODS team launches a series of workshops for the next generation of researchers

The METHODS team at CRESS UMR 1153 is committed to fostering the development of the next generation of researchers in the academic community. We recently launched a series of interactive workshops designed to help our interns further develop fundamental academic skills. Led by members of our doctoral and post-doctoral team, these sessions provide a collaborative environment where participants can refine their research abilities while sharing a moment of teamwork and exchange.

Our first workshop focused on writing – the “bread and butter” of academic skills. Together, our interns worked closely with an early career researcher to improve clarity, cohesion, and conciseness in their writing. A fresh perspective on how we communicate and structure our research projects can be invaluable, as we often assume that everyone understands our work just as we do!

A huge thank you to the interns who impressed us with the quality of their writing, many of which showcased highly developed research protocols. And to Antoine Braconnier, Mauricia Davidson, Mélissa Duran, Etienne Duranté, Tiphaine Lenfant, Olivier Paccoud, and Alvaro Torras Casas for their support in guiding and supporting our interns!

This workshop is just the beginning! Our next session will tackle the big question many face after completing a thesis: What’s next? To help navigate the many questions our interns face, we’re hosting a roundtable discussion on the 10th April featuring speakers with diverse career trajectories.
