Title: From Participation to Impact: Rethinking Research with Citizens and Stakeholders
Abstract: Participatory research and citizen science are emerging as key drivers for rethinking the production and dissemination of knowledge by closely involving citizens, socio-economic stakeholders, and researchers. These approaches raise major challenges: scientific challenges, in terms of methodological rigor and innovation in data collection and analysis; societal challenges, through the democratization of science and the territorial embeddedness of projects; and strategic challenges, in response to funders’ expectations and to strengthen the visibility and attractiveness of research activities.
Through keynote lectures, and discussions, this symposium will explore these different dimensions and provide a better understanding of how these approaches are transforming research practices. It will offer a space for reflection on the conditions for success, methodological and ethical challenges, and the opportunities opened up by these new forms of collaboration between science and society.
