Smoke particles: physico-chemical characterization and in vitro toxicological study (Fumitox)

Fumitox aims to evaluate the toxicological effects following inhalation of particles emitted during the combustion of obscuring and screening smokes using an original transversal approach to take into account the physico-chemical characteristics of the aerosols and the biological targets predictive of adverse effects in human.

Particulate matter being a great public health concern, particularly in respiratory health, cellular and molecular impact of exposure to particulate matter originating from fumigants, is assessed on reconstituted nasal epithelium, in an adapted in vitro model.
