Project

The team works on four types of biomarkers:

  • CSF biomarkers: Data from memory clinics used in collaborative approach with European and international partners.
  • Blood-based biomarkers: Several AD biomarkers (for example Aβ 40 et 42, NFL, GFAP, Tau-p 217/231) are examined in the team. The unique feature of our approach is to undertake research using such data from population-based studies (Whitehall II study) and patient data from memory clinics.
  • Omics: Markers using metabolomics and proteomics are examined to identify associations with ADRD using machine learning methods.
  • Circadian Rhythm: the aim is to identify core circadian rhythm features that shape 10-year risk of dementia in the population-based Whitehall II study, and a new cohort study (CIRCAME https://circame.fr/) based on patients from memory clinks.
  • Retinal imaging: Retinal structures that comprise the neurovascular coupling unit, i.e. neuronal and microvascular structures, can be non-invasively visualized and quantified, making them putative biomarkers of ADRD.
