Congratulations to Flora Blangis, candidate in the Inserm CRCN competition within the ‘Public Health, Population Health’ Specialised Scientific Commission
After working for several years as a midwife in a hospital environment, Flora decided to go further by embarking on research, and more specifically on epidemiology of physical child abuse. In the short term, her research should lead to a better understanding of the epidemiology, prevention, detection and diagnosis of child physical abuse, with a view to improving prevention and child protection strategies. They should also improve our understanding of the long-term consequences of this abuse, so that we can provide better medical, psychological and social support for these children and adults.
Flora Blangis won the Prix de la CHANCELLERIE DES UNIVERSITES DE PARIS in 2024 in the Medicine “all specialities” category for her thesis entitled “Maltraitance physique infantile: épidémiologie clinique et populationnelle” (Child physical abuse: clinical and population epidemiology).
