We would like to recruit 2 post-doctoral researchers to join the EpiAgeing team, https://cress-umr1153.fr/index.php/epiageing/ and  https://twitter.com/epiAgeing. Our research is on determinants of decline in cognitive and physical function, multimorbidity, and epidemiology of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. The successful applicants will join a dynamic team of researchers, biostatisticians, and PhD students.

The main aim of this project, funded by the NIH, is to identify risk factors for dementia using repeat data on social, behavioural, and biologic factors over the adult lifecourse. Much of the analyses will be based on data from the Whitehall II study where multiple risk factors have been assessed every 4/5 years over 30 years (1985 to 2020), https://www.ucl.ac.uk/epidemiology-health-care/research/epidemiology-and-public-health/research/whitehall-ii.

Applicants should have a PhD in epidemiology/ biostatistics and strong quantitative skills. Experience of longitudinal analysis or research on ageing/neurodegenerative diseases is essential. Use of suitable statistical methods to account for missing data and repeated measurement over time (illness death model, mixed-effects models, and inverse probability weighting) would be an asset. We work in a collaborative manner within the team and the Whitehall II study, someone with good skills will be supported in gaining expertise on the job. The post-doc is expected to lead on the statistical analysis and manuscript preparation for publication.

We have funding from the NIH for 5 years; the offer is for an initial period of 2 years with possibilities of an extension. These positions will be based in Paris, under the supervision of Archana Singh-Manoux. They may be particularly attractive for those wishing to pursue a career at Inserm as we also have 2 year funding for a post-doc at University College London.

Salary will be based on qualifications and experience according to the Inserm salary grid.

Applications will be considered until we find suitable candidates. Please send us your CV, a brief research statement, and the names of two references.

Please send applications and potential enquiries to Archana Singh-Manoux,  Archana.Singh-Manoux@inserm.fr
